The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center proudly announces its upcoming Main Gallery exhibition for December: the 2025 Regional Juried Exhibit. This highly competitive annual show celebrates the finest two-dimensional artworks from our region. The opening reception for both the Main Gallery and Atrium Gallery exhibits will take place on Saturday, November 22nd from 2–4 PM. The public is invited to attend, enjoy light refreshments, and meet the artists. Admission is free, and awards will be announced at 3 PM. The exhibition will remain on view through Sunday, January 11th.

This year, artists residing within a 150-mile radius of the Gmeiner were encouraged to submit up to three original works for consideration. A remarkable 45 artists entered a total of 92 pieces, and our juror selected 50 outstanding works to be featured in the show. Talented local artists from Wellsboro, Mansfield, Blossburg, Liberty, Mainesburg, Tioga, and Lawrenceville are among those selected, along with artists from Montrose, Williamsport, Lock Haven, and Montoursville. New York State is well represented by participants from Elmira, Corning, Horseheads, Ithaca, and Pine City. There are several artists participating this year from new regional locations of Lewisburg, Emporium, and Newton Hamilton.  The range of art on display includes oil and acrylic paintings, pastels and drawings, photography, fiber art, printmaking, mixed media, and digital art, offering viewers a diverse and engaging visual experience.

This year’s juror Michelle Lockwood, is an Associate Professor and Program Director of Graphic Design at Commonwealth University – Mansfield, with more than 25 years of experience in design education. She holds a BFA from Alfred University and an MFA from Goddard College. Michelle’s career includes positions with Harp and Company, Corning Incorporated, and as owner of MLDesign. Her wide-ranging expertise covers identity systems, exhibition graphics, and signage for prominent clients such as Eastman Kodak and The Corning Museum of Glass. An active member of AIGA, she also advises the CU-Mansfield Art and Design Guild. Her personal artwork explores themes of history, memory, and place through installation, photography, and mixed media, while her studio, StableVision Studios, specializes in photographic, illustrative, and typographic art.

The Regional Juried Exhibit provides a valuable platform for artists to share their work with the community, gain exposure, and contribute to our area’s dynamic cultural scene. The Gmeiner is located at 134 Main Street, Wellsboro, behind the Green Free Library. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 12–6 PM. Admission is always free and open to the public.
